Announcing My Newest Comic Book: Signal Fires!

I am excited to announce my latest comic book project: SIGNAL FIRES!

In the aftermath of the failed revolt against Rome, a young Judaean refugee and a grizzled sea captain set sail for Hispania, where the boy hopes to find his enslaved parents. On the journey, and with a Roman ship in hot pursuit, the seafarer shares a secret story about Bar Kochva and his rebellion, his rage… and his dragons.

SIGNAL FIRES is a magical sword-and-sandal spectacle, set in a fantastical version of the 2nd century Judaea — the era of the Bar Kochva (Bar Kochba) revolt.

SIGNAL FIRES is my latest collaboration with the author Arnon Shorr.  It is the fourth Tale in the “Festival of Forgotten Tales” series of comic books, that blend fun genre stories with Jewish holiday lore.  Each of these “Festival of Forgotten Tales” comics tells a completely stand-alone adventure (though you might notice some thematic threads running through them all.)

SIGNAL FIRES was created with generous support from The Center for Jewish Philanthropy’s Arts and Culture Community Impact Grant.
