Let’s start with the most exciting news of the past few weeks: Ted Lasso is returning for season four, with Jason Sudeikis!  Wow!  I didn’t think that was going to happen.  I really hope they can bring back the full cast.  (There are rumors that several of them are committed to other projects and so unavailable.)  I hope they can recapture the magic.

I’m also super-excited by the casting of Jeff Daniels as Jimmy (Jason Segel)’s father for season three of Shrinking.  What a great choice.  I can’t wait for Shrinking to return!

After years of rumors, Spinal Tap II is actually a real thing that exists that we’ll be able to see?  Here’s a teaser trailer:

Obviously I adore the first film.  It’s very, very hard to make a sequel decades later that is any good.  But I am hoping for the best here!!

This is a fun trailer for Your Friends and Neighbors, the new Apple TV+ show starring Jon Hamm:

I love seeing Jon Hamm back on TV!  That trailer looks like a strong mix of comedy and drama that’s playing to Mr. Hamm’s strengths.

I’m also excited for a new Seth Rogen-starring TV show, The Studio, also on Apple TV+!

Poker Face is finally returning for a second season!!!  Yay!!  Here’s a trailer:

I loved the first season and have been super-excited for more episodes.  Looks like a great array of new guest stars.  I can’t wait for this.

Disney’s desire to apparently remake every single one of their classic animated films in live-action has always seemed like a creatively dull idea.  But I love the original Lilo and Stitch, so I must admit I’m curious about the live-action version.  (“Live action”, albeit with a ton of CGI!!)  Here’s a trailer:

I love the news that Sadie Sink (Max on Stranger Things) will be joining the cast of the next Tom Holland Spider-Man movie!  That’s great casting!  I’m eager to learn who she’ll be playing.

I’m intrigued to read about a new documentary exploring the later years of Stan Lee.  There’s been a lot of contradictory reporting on the various people in Stan’s life in the years before his death; I’m curious what perspective this film will have.

I’ve written a lot about the completed Looney Tunes movie, Coyote vs Acme, that David Zaslav and Warner Brothers shelved a few years ago in order to get a tax write-off.  I’m excited by the news that Ketchup Entertainment might step up to release this film (though with the tepid box office returns from the Looney Tunes movie that just came out, The Day The Earth Blew Up, who knows if this will actually happen…)

I’m intrigued by the news that Neill Blomkamp (District 9, Elysium) is working on a new adaptation of Starship Troopers, one that will reportedly hew closer to the original novel by Robert Heinlein.  I’m interested to see what Mr. Blomkamp could do with this material.

I love the news that Christoph Waltz and Keegan-Michael Key are joining the cast of Only Murders in the Building for season five.  I can’t wait!
