Here’s a glorious new trailer for Dune Part Two — I can’t wait for this!!!!

Finally, George Miller’s long-rumored return to the Mad Max universe is soon to become a reality.  Here’s a first look at Furiosa:

I’m the last person to doubt George Miller.  I loved Mad Max: Fury Road.  I freely admit that a prequel to Fury Road is not what I want George Miller to be doing.  (Now, a SEQUEL with Charlize Theron returning to the role would be another thing…!)  But nevertheless I have high hopes for Furiosa…

This is an exciting trailer for the new season of True Detective, subtitled Night Country:

Here’s a trailer for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire:

Do I care about that?  I’m surprised by how much I’m enjoying the TV-series spin-off of these films, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.  It’s excellent — what I’d hoped these Godzilla and Kong films would be.  But outside of Kong: Skull Island, I have not found much enjoyment in the recent wave of interconnected “monsterverse” movies, and I thought the crossover Godzilla vs Kong was a let-down.  This new trailer looks pretty but there’s little here to make me think this sequel will be an improvement…  (It’s funny that they’re calling this Godzilla x Kong instead of “vs”, as the two monsters seem to be pals now…)

I enjoy the DC animated direct-to-DVD/blu-ray movies, though I wish they could hit the highs that the Bruce Timm animated shows used to.  I’m intrigued that they’re producing a trilogy of movies adapting Crisis on Infinite Earths:

Here’s a trailer for Alex Garland’s new film Civil War:

That has potential.  I’m always interested in Mr. Garland’s projects.  (Though his 2014 film Ex Machina remains my favorite!!!)

Click here for a lengthy piece from Vanity Fair about Robert Downey Jr.’s third act.  (He was pretty great in Oppenheimer!)

They’re making a TV show prequel to Sexy Beast, the 2000 film that starred Ben Kingsley and Ray Winstone?  That announcement took me by surprise!  I’ll admit that I’m curious…

Just awful news that Andrew Braugher died at age 61.  So sad.  I will forever adore his work as Captain Raymond Holt on Brooklyn Nine-Nine.  (My family had just finished a Brooklyn Nine-Nine rewatch a few months ago!!)

Here’s a brief update that a second season of Peacemaker is still in the works… I can’t wait for that!  (The first season was amazing!!!)

The upcoming twelfth season of Curb Your Enthusiasm is going to be the show’s last?  What a bummer!  But, wow, what a run.  (The show began life as a one-hour special all the way back in 1999…!!!)

Thanks for reading!  Hope you’ll come back soon… I’ve got lots more reviews coming, and I’m working on my annual “best of the year” lists…!
